Counselling sessions, and a reflective writing group
PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC COUNSELLING
I hold a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling through Metanoia Institute. I support clients 1 to 1. Meeting for 50 minutes at the same time each week in a confidential space, we work together to understand what you hope for and what is involved in working towards that. I offer both open-ended and shorter-term support, which would be discussed as part of our work. I offer online work and face to face work, the latter being carefully planned for around Covid-19 conditions.
These sessions are £50. I reserve a number of lower rate spaces for those in need.
We can arrange a time to meet. I work at:
> Evolution Arts, 2 Sillwood Road, Brighton BN1 2LR,
> and in Hanover, convenient for many central buses and local parking: Down Terrace, Brighton BN2 9ZH.

MINDFUL REFLECTIVE WRITING GROUP
You can learn about my approach to writing and my beliefs about its potential as a self-help tool at:
writingforselfdevelopment.com
I periodically offer a reflective writing group called Brighton Reflective Writing, where we accommodate each member's focus for exploration. No writing experience is necessary, and I facilitate your participation in this safe and enriching environment. Writing has been shown to be an effective tool for deepening reflection, and use in a group setting supports us even further. There is no pressure to share more than you wish to, and the support and observations of others is deeply enriching. I keep the group small to ensure each member gets time and space for reflection.
These sessions are £9 per writer.

[DURING THE CURRENT LOCKDOWN ALL FACE TO FACE COURSES HAVE BEEN HALTED.]
Testimonials:
Writing with Maura on a weekly basis in the last couple of months has been a constant surprise. A surprise in what aspects of my own patterns I uncover that I didn't see before, and a surprise of what this seemingly simple tool has to offer. We wrote from ever changing perspectives, using new techniques, sometimes engaging with other forms of art, helping bring out deeper and deeper insights about the roads we're each travelling on. On the other hand, the crucial stable point is Maura's attention. She is fully there in the sessions, cares, and remembers our progress, which helps a lot in putting the journey in perspective.
This simple, pure method of writing with her has been a weekly source of reflection and a support in going forward, which I'm thankful for, and will continue to take part in.
I didn't know fully what I felt until I did the writing activities. I feel safe in this group.
This group has become an anchor in my week.
